A Simple Beginning

My military career covers a span of over 18 years. In this 18 years I have learned and grown tremendously both in my personal life and career. At this time I am a husband and father to 4 wonderful children. I consider myself the typical American male as I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football and coaching my children's different sporting teams however, the experiences that I have had in the military have shaped my life and who I am dramatically. Training, mentoring and leading soldiers and children has showed me what I am most passionate about in a career and that is teaching. I believe that there is a lesson in everything and that we are all life-long learners. I am always looking to learn new things and am especially excited when I have the opportunity to learn from others. We all know someone in the military personally or through association. I am hopeful that during our time together you are able to better understand the "why" behind some of the decisions that the military makes and the importance of supporting and learning with those of us that serve. It is my intent to provide insight as well as gain the knowledge required to successfully teach, guide and communicate with those I teach in the military and civilian sectors. I started this by researching what the most successful practices are for starting a blog. By the time I reached this point I have found that as long as you can reach one person, you have met your objective.
